Ramadan – The month of Neymat
Ramadan, a divine month.
Ramadan – The month of Neymat
The Holiest month in the Islamic calendar, a period of extensive prayers, fasting and introspection. It is that purest month when Rasulullah (SAW) received the initial revelations of the holy Quran. In his words, - “Oh! believers you have been approached by the month which is the most significant and pious of all. A Single act of goodwill in this month is equivalent to 70,000 blessings and benedictions. It is the month of patience and patience is the key to Jannat.”
The essence of Ramadan lies in the different forms of Ibadats which are performed. The significance of all being the ‘fasting’ termed as 'Roza', that spans through the dawn till dusk accompanied by recitation of the glorious Quran and offering the timely Namaz. Ramadan is not just abstaining ourselves from food or water but abstaining each and every part of our body from unethical, evil and while activities, getting rid of all our sins. Be it worldly pleasures, indecency, curses, hatred, gossips, envy, abuse or any other form of sin, the beauty of Ramadan lies in getting rid of it all.
The blessed month is an amalgam of some of the most rewarding practices that lay down the path to create the most ideal version of oneself.
-
FASTING – “ROZA”
The source of spiritual reflection, heightened devotion and reinforced beliefs. Complete abstinence from eating, drinking or sinful behaviourthus promoting self discipline, empathy generosity and compassion and a v to cleanse our souls. It is accompanied by 'Sehori', a pre-fast meal, consumed before dawn and 'Iftaar' - the time to break the fast after sunset. Over the time iftaars have evolved into grand banquets, but the essence lies in its simplicity.
-
NAMAZ – “IBADAT”
Namaz forms the core of Islam. The belief to bow before no one but Allah forms the centre of the religion. The 5 major Namaz–Fajr,Zohar,Asr,Maghrib and isha-il-Akhar are when we find ourselves closest to and in our most truthful form before Allah. It is during these prayers that we expose our vulnerabilities, accept oursinsand seek forgiveness and repentance from Allah And praise Him for his grandeur and greatness. Falling in the last 10 days is the most revered night of the year –“LailatulQadr”, a night greater and blessed than 1000 nights. A night of forgiveness, benediction, mercy, purification, glory reverence and devotion, all of it multiplied a 1000 times. A night that each Muslim waits in anticipation for every year during Ramadan.
-
RECITATION OF QURAN – “TILAWAT”
The holy book that embodies all the secrets of the universe. In this month when ‘Quran' are believed to have descended upon Rasulullah, it is the utmost obligation of every believer to recite the entire book at least once during this month and gain all the blessings and rewards that lay ahead for them for each goodwill that is done.
-

Every little goodness done in this month is multiplied over 70,000 times than done anytime throughout the year. This belief is the foundation of performing charity of all kinds inculcating the joy of giving.
